Fort Worth Fly Fishers has a long-standing relationship with Tarrant Regional Water District by participating in activities like Trinity Fly Fest and Trash Bash events. I am pleased to announce that we will be participating in two other programs with TRWD which are Adopt a Drain and Adopt a Trail.
Two drains, only a short distance from our meeting location, have been adopted. 80% of the trash found in our waterways traveled from locations on land. By keeping our storm drains litter-free, you’re ensuring that litter never makes it to the river. We can help improve this situation by monitoring “our” drains and cleaning
accessible debris as needed. A request to adopt a Trail at Marine Creek Lake has been submitted. We will schedule routine events to maintain “our” Trail. More information on these conservation efforts will be shared at upcoming meetings.
Fort Worth Fly Fishers are making a difference in our community!
