Bring your vise or use one of club’s! This Aug. 6 membership meeting is designed to teach those wanting to learn the basics of fly tying, as well as those looking to improve their own skills. There is something for everyone: Showcase your own flies and tie for all to see, walk around and gander at the flies being tied, sit down and learn the beginner 101 skills of fly tying, or be a part of one of the two contests that will take place during our club meeting. It will be a great time for all!
Come learn through our meeting full of tying events:
- Featured fly tyers will be club members Les Jackson,shown above,lending a hand, Sharon Leissner, and Mark Kolanowski.
- • In addition, we have the honor of having Will Yancey, of Fatties on the Fly, as our guest fly tyer.
- The first contest will consist of tying a fly to be disclosed the day of the event. Your fly will be scored by a panel of three judges. Bring your own vise or use one of the club’s. Tying materials will be provided.
- The second contest will consist of guessing the names of a series of flies and the materials used in them.
There will be special prizes for the winners of each contest. It will be a fun event. We hope to see you there.
