All kidding aside, our great club is turning 40 years old!! Actually, longer than that as there was a group doing things together before then, but we were actually established in 1985!! And we are going to have a party!! Yes, on July 1st, our regular club meeting night, we are going to have quite the gathering.
Starting at 6:45 pm, there will be no speaker this night, but there will be a very large fly-tying materials sale, and a chance for members to sell items to other members. Kind of a swap meet setting. Members will be bringing up gear, rods, reels, and other miscellaneous items to sell to you, the member. There will also be flies tied by our members. If you would like to sell items as well, please let us know as soon as possible. We already have thirteen members selling items, and there are only two spots left for the member sale. Please RSVP as soon as possible.
If you are selling items during this event, a 10% donation to the club of all proceeds will go to the club.
We are also very blessed to have received a very large donation of fly-tying materials from the Kyle Hand family. Kyle was a long-time member of the club, who started back in 1985. Kyle was very well known in the fly-tying community, not just in Texas, but all throughout the south. As he traveled quite a bit, he attended fly-tying events for a long time. This incredible donation of fly-tying materials has been made ready for you, the member, to purchase.
Please bring cash or a check to buy these items, and plan on shopping the entire assortment we will have set up. You do NOT want to miss out on this opportunity!!!
