The Blue has been fishing GREAT! Fish have been strong and healthy. And February is the time to go – the fish get larger as the season continues and the fishing pressure is relatively low.

The Blue River is located in Tishomingo, Oklahoma inside the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area. The river is spring-fed starting in Connerville and flows southeast to the Red River. Located two and a half hours from downtown Fort Worth, the Blue River holds smallmouth bass, crappie, and catfish, plus it is stocked bi-weekly during the winter with rainbow and golden trout.

On February 24th, Fort Worth Fly Fishers will meet for a head count and instructions at 10 a.m. at Scotty’s Blue River One Stop, located just outside the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area. Fish as long as you want before heading home. Scotty’s serves breakfast and lunch, and has an assortment of recommended guide flies on hand for sale. This event will be hosted by Brett Morehead if you are interested in attending this outing, please contact FWFF Vice President Brett Morehead at brett.j.morehead@gmail.com or (817) 368-3808.
