Club, we were able to access the Latham Springs Retreat Center, near Aquilla, for a late outing addition. This small lake is loaded with small panfish, and bass, that will readily take small flies on a light action road. It’s a superfun place to fish, both from the bank or small boat. There are big trees around the small lake, offering a nice break from the heat, and it’s a great place to set up for a picnic! (Bring your own goodies.)

You can check out the facilities and exact location here: https://lathamsprings.com/

There is a $3 per person cost to enter the area. Please stop by and pay at the office. The Brazos River is also only five minutes away, and it’s a great place to drop a kayak in. Check out the launch site at Dick’s on the Brazos, or go an additional few more miles away and drop in at Spivey’s Crossing.
