Stephen Woodcock has been fly fishing for almost 30 years. His passion for fly fishing has taken him not just to U.S. hotspots, but also Australia, Europe, the Caribbean and Canada. He has guided in Oklahoma, Colorado, Alaska, Bahamas and Texas. Stephen has been president of Fort Worth Fly Fishers as well as other positions with club leadership, and has been the Fly Fishing Manager at Orvis Fort Worth the past three years.

On Jan. 3, 2023, Stephen will show how to plan and then execute a successful fly-fishing trip to the Texas Gulf Coast. Saltwater fish fight twice as hard as their freshwater equivalents, so fly fishers owe it to themselves to try it at least once. It might just change your life like it did for Stephen. This is an in-person only meeting at our usual venue, the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth.

He will review recommended equipment from rods, reels, lines and flies along with clothing and footwear. He’ll even talk about the right type of kayak to use or rent for a successful outing. Get ready to be inspired to take your first step into the saltwater experience or, if you’re lucky enough to have done it before, how to improve your odds in your next adventure.

See you Tuesday, Jan. 3 at UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth.
