FWFF Fly Tying Director

If you are a fly tyer or interested in fly tying, you will not want to miss our Summer Learning Series membership meeting at 7 p.m. on Aug. 2! Our guest tyer will be Mike Morphew.

A few years ago I attended a fly fishing event in Grapevine and was blown away by Mike’s realistic fly display and hoped someday he could make a presentation for our club. If you are not familiar with Mike, he is a Gold Award FFI Fly Tyer who has been tying and fly fishing for more than 50 years. He tied his first fly when he was 13 years old and has created salmon fly displays for members of the Royal Family of Great Britain.

Mike will appear via a Zoom presentation, but the meeting will be in-person only at our usual venue, the UNT Health Science Center at 3500 Camp Bowie Blvd. If you registered by the July 26 deadline, the club will provide fly tying materials free of charge. If you missed the deadline, you are still welcome to tie along with the presentation, but you will need to provide your own fly tying materials.

See you Tuesday, Aug. 2!
