Quite a few FWFF members have ventured north to Oklahoma’s pretty Blue River, so in February the club will make it an outing on Feb. 19. Oklahoma regularly stocks rainbow trout in the fishery, and it’s a smallmouth bass habitat as well. The state’s own description of the river is here. The nearest town is Tishomingo, Okla., about two hours north and east of Fort Worth. A good place to stop on the way is Scotty’s One Stop, 4501 S. Bullard Chapel Rd. in Tishomingo, for advice and a licenses. (Oklahome has a reciprocal agreement with Texas IF YOU ARE 65 OR OLDER, so take your Texas license and you’re good.)
