Please mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 3, for an upcoming free event. Fly Fish 101 will happen from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Trinity River behind the Martin House Brewery at 220 South Sylvania Ave., No. 209, in Fort Worth. Our host is member Vince Turley.
Participants will not need to bring rods or flies, but will need a valid Texas fishing license if planning to fish. On hand will be volunteer casting instructors to demonstrate the basics as well as some “fishing instructors” who will teach how to mend line in moving current, adjust flies for the best depth to catch fish, and share the best ways they know how to catch warm water fish in area waters.
Following the event, you are invited to enjoy some fine craft beers at Martin House. Food trucks are on location as well for some good lunch grub. For location, see the map below, or click here for Google Maps directions.
