Octoberfisch, the fall fishing gathering sponsored by Fredericksburg Fly Fishers, has been postponed after severe flooding hit the Junction, Texas, area that was to host the popular event. It had been set for Oct. 19-21.

Jerry Hamon, president of the Fly Fishing International Texas Council and a Fort Worth Fly Fishers member, announced the action in an email: “Due to the impacts of the flood we regretfully decided to postpone Oktoberfisch until 2019. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy!”

The South Llano River overflowed its banks this week after nearly a foot of rain fell, according to this San Antonio Express-News report.
