Come and join us for the Fort Worth Fly Fishers Annual Casting Clinic at 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7 at Capp Smith Park, 5800 Hightower Dr, Watauga, TX 76148.
We have Pavilion #1 reserved for the evening which has tables, restroom facilities, and parking. Adjacent to Pavilion #1 is a stocked fishing lake and Callahan Field which has a large open area for casting. Feel free to bring a friend, your own equipment to cast with or use some of the club’s equipment. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, bug spray, eye protection (required), hat and a lawn chair if needed.
There will be various sessions led by some of our own members to help you with any casting concerns. Here is the schedule:
Open Casting: 4:00 p.m. to 5:30pm
Casting Sessions: 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sesssions include: Roll Casts; Pick Up and Laydown, Loop Control, False Casting, Shooting Line, Accuracy, Dealing With The Wind, Mends, Slack Line Cast, Double Haul, Heavy Stuff
Casting Games: 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Clean Up: 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
