Prettiest fish I have seen while fly fishing

Prettiest Fish I Ever Saw

During the Thanksgiving holiday, I have reflected over the past five years that I have been a member of the Fort Worth Fly Fishers and have thought about the meetings and events that I have experienced. We have done good work and had lots of fun times. However, I always think that we could be doing more. Or maybe, just be doing different things. In the last few months, I have heard from several members that have come up with ideas about the direction of our club, and what else we can do together. Some of those ideas included:

Hosting a fly fishing tournament on local water to show the members of our community what fly fishing opportunities we have right in our own backyard.

Increasing the local outings to help out new members with their basic understanding of how to fly fish.

Holding a joint meeting between the FWFF, Dallas Fly Fishers, and Red River Fly Fishers. This could be a regular meeting that we just bring in a special speaker and share the expense, or could be a day long clinic that includes speakers from all three clubs telling about the waters in their area.

Holding a rod building class.

Having a one day hands on workshop about modifying your kayak. This would be an work day on your kayak, not just watching someone else demonstrate it.

I know that many of you have great ideas as well. Please feel free to share them in the Forums under the “Member Ideas“. Or, you can email them to us at fortworthflyfishers@gmail.com
