From Beavers Bend State Park:

Beavers Bend State Park is now open to the public. There are still some areas that will remain closed. Buckeye Campground, and Hickory Campground in the river area of beavers bend are still closed. The road near the cold hole fishing area is still barricaded near the bridge and will be closed for some time to vehicle traffic. Blue Jay camp ground is now open on the lake. At this time there are still no boat ramps open. Most of our lease concession vendors are still trying to make repairs to get ready for business. Some are partially operational and others are close to being operational. The beavers bend riding stables and train ride will be open today and tomorrow, the beavers bend restaurant is open, I believe the canoe vendors are open or close to being open as well. Please be advised….there are still a lot of hazards throughout the park that we have not had time to address. There is a lot of debris near the river, the fishing bridges are missing safety fencing, and there are high bluffs along spillway creek. Use caution while recreating and enjoying the park. please contact us at the park office (580) 494-6300 for questions.

LMFRF Board Member Mike Love has done an impressive drone video of the “new” LMF. It is divided into two parts. For those that want to know what thew river looks like, here it is:

But are there any fish?

Rob Woodruff went out last Saturday and caught many, many fish.

I fished all day Saturday at Beavers Bend State Park. Caught plenty of Trout, Walleye, Spotted Bass and one big Blue Catfish on nymphs, streamers and dry flies. #Orvis, #orvisadventures
