Our May 14 outing was washed out, so we’re staying local and fishing at the Southwest Nature Preserve in Arlington (off I-20 and Bowman Springs). Mark your calendar for 9:00 am, Saturday, May 14.

The club started Fly Fish 101 last year as a way to help beginners learn or hone their fly fishing skills on the water with the help of more experienced club members and Certified Casting Instructors (CCIs).  All members are encouraged to attend.

You won’t need any equipment or flies. No waders required as instructors will be on the lake bank teaching techniques for catching bass and sunfish in one of the three lake ponds at the park. You will need a valid Texas fishing license. Bring a friend or two if you like.

We’ll fish until noon, then we’ll serve hot dogs for lunch. People can leave or continue to fish on your own until 3:00 p.m. This is a FREE EVENT.

If you have questions, please contact Les Jackson, 817-658-3004.
